Mike Marsh is the drummer for The Avett Brothers. He first interacted with the band by helping record songs for 2009's I and Love and You and by playing drums at their Charlotte, NC show on August 8, 2009 which was released on the Live, Volume 3 album and DVD. He is also a backing vocalist.
Marsh replaced Jacob Edwards as a touring member in December 2012, playing with The Avett Brothers at their annual New Years Eve show.
Before The Avett Brothers, Marsh was a drummer for the bands The Agency, Dashboard Confessional, Seville, and A Penny for Jane. He was born in Miami, Florida in August 1974 and has been playing drums since high school.[2]
